FUN FACT

On the good ol' FB (facebook for those of you who aren't too hip on your lingo) I am a fan of "Montana." Yesterday they were putting up a bunch of interesting facts about Montana, so I thought I would share them all with you!!!

#1: The average square mile in Montana contains 1.4 elk, 1.4 antelope, 3.3 deer and 6.6 people (compare that to 1,196 people per square mile in New Jersey!)

#2: There are more cows in Montana than there are people
#3: At the Rocky Mountain Front Eagle Migration Area west of Great Falls, more golden eagles have been seen in a single day than anywhere else in the country.

#4: The southeast corner of Montana is closer to Texas than it is to the northwest corner of Montana.

#5: Not only is Montana bigger (by area) than 46 states in the US, it's also bigger than 103 of the 195 countries in the world.

#6: The paleontologist in "Jurassic Park" was based on Dr. Jack Horner, keeper of one of the most impressive collectios of dinosaur fossils in the world at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.

#7:
In 1888, Helena, MT had more millionaires per capita than any other city in the world.

#8: The Montana Yogo Sapphire is the only North American gem to be included in the Crown Jewels of England.

#9: No state has as many different species of mammals as Montana.

#10: 46 out of Montana's 56 counties are considered "frontier counties" with an average population of 6 or fewer people per square mile.

That's all! Hope you all enjoyed a little fun trivia about my great state :)
