Ummmm, escuse me???

This morning the hubs and I woke up to the sound of our dog Harley howling. He was literally FREAKING out...the only time this happens is when there's something outside. I thought it was just the neighbor's dogs, so I tried to get him to stop. Well, it didn't work and he kept howling and howling. I finally went to the door to see what was out there...and what would you know? There were four horses in my driveway! Our neighbors horses had somehow escaped during the night and were now hoofing their way through the snow to eat my front lawn. Here are the culprits:


Let me tell ya, it was quite the odd site to look out of my front window and see these things! Crazy crazy crazy....

So since it was 6:30 a.m. when we found them, we couldn't exactly call the neighbor yet to tell her. We opened up their gate and tried to chase them in. FAIL. They actually ran the opposite direction, down our driveway and down the county road. Then the silly things just walked right over the cattle guard, back into their pasture. Turns out with all of the snow we've had, the cattle guard was completely snowed over, so the horses could just walk right over it without any problems. Huh...guess we'll be taking care of that today! Did I mention that it was -15 degrees outside when this all took place? So needless to say my day started off a little bit on the chilly side.
